The watermills and the windmills  have been the most essential fields of agricultural life in Kea. The small settlement of Mylopotamos was the centre of the watermills due to the spring of Flea. In the past along the ρεμα of Flea there were eleven active watermills while in the area of Paliomylos, on top of the capital Ioulida, was the largest complex of waremills in the Cyclades. 26 watermills were active with energy power ” the meltemia’ north wind of the Aegean during summer months.

This route which combines ‘water”, “north wind’ and a typical agricultural landscape is an ideal choice for those who want to feel a unique experience.
